System Analysis
Poor power quality costs industrial facilities through equipment degradation, unplanned downtime, and inflated energy bills. EES Electrics delivers structured power quality testing and analysis — producing certified findings your team can act on.
Industrial & commercial facilities only — no domestic electrical services.
Why It Matters
Industrial Power Quality Testing in Victoria and Australia
Voltage fluctuations, harmonic distortion, and load imbalance cause more unplanned industrial downtime than most facilities account for. The damage is cumulative — variable speed drives, motors, and control equipment degrade faster under poor power quality conditions, shortening asset lifespans and increasing maintenance costs before a failure forces the issue.
EES Electrics places calibrated instruments at key distribution points across your facility and monitors continuously for 24 to 72 hours, capturing load behaviour across full production cycles. The result is a clear, site-specific picture of your electrical system's health — not a template report from incomplete data.
We work with plant managers, maintenance engineers, and facilities teams across food processing, cold storage, manufacturing, and warehousing. Every assessment is conducted by licensed electricians with verifiable industrial experience.

The Assessment
What a Power Quality Assessment Covers
Industrial electrical systems face four main categories of power quality problems. Voltage variations — including sags, swells and sustained imbalance — place stress on motors and drive electronics. Harmonic distortion, introduced by variable speed drives and non-linear loads, degrades system efficiency and causes overheating in transformers and cables.
Load imbalance increases neutral conductor current and creates uneven mechanical wear in rotating equipment. Transient events — brief voltage spikes from switching operations — can corrupt process control data and damage sensitive instrumentation.
EES Electrics instruments capture and quantify all four categories simultaneously during every assessment, at key distribution points across your site, across full production cycles including peak demand and shift changeovers.
What the instruments record
-
Voltage waveforms and RMS values at each distribution point
-
Harmonic spectrum analysis (2nd through to 50th order)
-
Power factor and displacement power factor readings
-
Load current across all phases and neutral conductors
-
Transient and impulse event logging
-
Voltage unbalance percentages between phases
Monitoring runs for a minimum of 24 hours to capture full production-cycle behaviour. Sites with complex or variable loads benefit from 48–72 hour monitoring windows
The EES Electrics Approach
How We Work

Assess
We review the site, operational requirements and existing systems before any work begins. This scoping phase shapes the engagement and ensures all work is planned around your facility's schedule and production needs.

Deliver
Qualified industrial electricians carry out the required work — whether testing, installation, commissioning or inspection — using calibrated equipment and following recognised Australian electrical standards throughout.

Report & Support
Every engagement produces clear documentation: findings, recommendations and where relevant a certified written report. We remain available for follow-up questions and can support subsequent rectification work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Power quality testing measures the electrical characteristics of your facility's supply — voltage stability, harmonic distortion, load imbalance, and transient events. Industrial equipment is sensitive to these variations; poor power quality degrades motors and drives faster, triggers unexplained shutdowns, and inflates energy costs. A structured assessment identifies these issues before they cause measurable production loss or equipment failure
